Websites that Engage

ImageWebsites that engage people are essential. We now live in a world where people are bombarded by information every minute.  Only a short-time ago our world of the 1990s was practically ruled by the 15 second sound byte. If you did not capture and deliver your message in 15 seconds you were simply not heard.

In today’s information-overloaded culture 15 seconds is now an eternity. Many studies have shown that many people will never even look at a website that would take 15 seconds to load up or 15 seconds to capture and retain the viewers’ attention.

So how do you create websites that engage and retain people?

The most important thing to remember is that the internet is simply another way to connect people and connect people to information.  There are no shortcuts on the internet. The internet like any other medium of communications requires you to build a relationship between people and you or an organization.

Websites can help you build and retain relationships with both current supporters and future supporters. They increase your ability to reach out and be visible. But like any relationship they integrate with other interaction you have with supporters.

The internet and your website will not replace, but it can enhance your interaction with supporters.
