CMS (Content Management System) let you easily create a website that will allow your supporters to help you.

Imagine that a major issue was suddenly forced upon you. In minutes you could react by setting up a petition or create a campaign for your supporters to contact the media or elected officials.

But why use a CMS to do this?

The internet is simply a collection of websites and files found on millions of computers around the world. Together they form the internet. Also, most of these files are written with special program languages they are difficult for most people to read and use.

Thankfully we have programs (like Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Opera, etc…) that can read these files for us and translate them into a website that we can easily see and understand. However to build a website has traditionally meant that you have to learn one of the many program languages (HTML, PHP, etc…), but new programs have been built to make it easy. These programs quietly write all the programming language for you just like a word processing program (MS Word, Word Perfect, etc…).

So now you can:

  1. Create a webpage faster: You do not need to create or even adapt the layout from one page to the other, you simply write the content, review, and publish it. It will be added automatically by the CMS
  2. Make changes easily to your website: Want to add a new menu, simply add it and it will be added to the whole website or the section of the website you want. There is no need to edit all existing pages.
  3. Change or update a template: This is just as easy. Your changes will be applied immediately.
  4. Discover how easy it is to use: Little to no knowledge of web-design and website-writing is needed. Most people who use computers regularly can now create a website – simply write the content and add whatever graphics or links you want.
